No excuses, just results

Our little peanut is now 10.5 months old and getting bigger and learning something new everyday.  She now has 4 teeth and so far no fuss with any of them.  Just this week she said "necklace" - Grandma got to witness this great event over the phone but has not said it since.  Apparently it only works with Tiffany's jewelry.  We are creating a monster.  

Last month we began the transition to table food.  She loves french toast, scrambled eggs, peaches, carrots, peas, and chicken nuggets.  Then she got Roseola, so we had to start the whole process over again but she is doing well.  By the time she is a year old she will be off the stage 3 food and eating normal people food.  While visiting her friend Kaitlyn (Christa and Andy's daughter) she discovered that if you drop food on the floor the dog will eat it and that is fun!  Problem is she tries the same trick at home but we have no dog.  Thank goodness for Dyson (and if you don't have one - get one!) 

While she has yet to crawl, we are firmly convinced that she never will.  She scoots around the house on her butt.  Yes, strange, and we have no idea how she figured this trick out but it works for her.  Once I can successfully get a video to load on here I will show you how she moves, however, after 45 minutes with no success I am over it.

In May Ainsley got to visit with all of her grandparents, her Nanny was here for Mother's Day and her Grandma and Grandpa were here for a week while we were in Puerto Vallarta on our much needed vacation.  

With the warm weather here we have been able to use her new baby pool (thanks Nanny!).  At first she wanted nothing to do with is because the water was so cold.  But after hauling about 15 buckets of hot water out from the bathroom, through the house and down the deck stairs it was warm enough for the princess to get in.  She has a blast in it and loves to splash.  However, because she can splash in the pool she thinks it is the same thing in the bathtub.  Since we still use the baby tub in the sink of the kitchen we now have nightly floods to clean up.

Now that Ainsley is getting a little more self-sufficient we have started back up on the house again.  We want to get a bunch done before her birthday party on the 2nd so we spent last evening at Lowe's.  Right now Matt is power washing the house, deck and front stairs.  We will be painting all the wood trim and getting rid of the ugly red stain and turning it brown.  Fingers are crossed that it will look good when done.  We are also going to be tackling our upstairs bathroom.  And trying to find a sliding glass door.  We love the look of the French doors we currently have but they just aren't working in this house.  So the saga continues.  

Last weekend I took Ainsley to the zoo with Christa, Kaitlyn and Linda - the girls did great.  Ainsley got a little freaked out by the goats in the petting zoo and it was a bit slow going for us since there are diaper and food stops to be made.  The peanut wasn't too into the animals, but she did love kicking back in her stroller. 

We are getting ready for her first birthday party - a cake from the famous (at least in our family) "cake lady" has been ordered, invitations mailed, decorations purchased - for a rubber ducky theme.  Since she is in love with chewing her ducks and it was her second word it only seems appropriate to help her celebrate with the little yellow guys.  I even found an outfit for her to wear while eating her cake with a duck on it and she has special ducky pajamas for the big day!  I know it is a bit ridiculous for a first birthday, but hey, you only get one first birthday!
